INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS
Authors should e-mail their papers as an attachment in the form of a Word document. This document should, as closely as possible, follow the style of the papers since Volume 3(2). Here is a short summary of the style:
- All margins are 1 inch (2.5 centimetres)
- There is no blank line between paragraphs, but each paragraph has a 6-point space after it
- All text is in 11-point “Arial” font except for the title, the word “Abstract”, the word “Keywords” and level 1 headings, all of which are in 12-point font.
- The Abstract's text is right justified, has reduced width and is in 10-point font
- Level 1 headings are bold and there is a 12-point space before them as well as a 6-point space after them
- Level 2 headings are similar, but they are 11-point rather than 12-point
- Level 3 headings are similar to level 2 headings, but they are not in bold
- Level 4 headings, if you must have them, are similar to level 3 headings but they are in italics
- Graphics are inserted into the document, but they are also sent SEPARATELY
- Graphics are sent in the form of JPG images, preferably, and never as part of another Word, Powerpoint or whatever document
- The Harvard system of referencing is used.
All copy should be emailed to ray.wyatt@unimelb.edu.au. If images are too bulky to email, try zipping them. If this does not work, copy them onto a disk and post them to:
Ray Wyatt, Joint Managing Editor Applied GIS,
School of Resource Management and Geography, The University of Melbourne, 221 Bouverie Street, Parkville, VIC, 3010, Australia.
(If your Word document is too bulky to email, copy it to the disk as well; do NOT send a PDF file.)
